Porsche's unique new four-door model, the Panamera, will make its world debut in China before worldwide market launch. Porsche says their latest will be presented publicly for the first time at Auto Shanghai 2009 in China later this year.

Japanese automaker Toyota has just issued a decidedly laconic press release announcing the unveiling at the Detroit Auto Show of a small, battery-powered, electric vehicle, the FT-EV, set to hit markets in early 2010. The vehicle, which no one has seen yet, is reportedly inspired from the diminutive subcompact, four-seat iQ sedan presented at the Geneva Auto Show.

General Motors is busy getting ready for their hometown show and has announced three more vehicles that will be on display.The beautiful CTS sedan will spawn a Sport Wagon version, which will target buyers currently seeking to dump their SUVs. On sale next summer, the 2010 CTS Sport Wagon will offer 720 litres of cargo space behind the rear seats.

North American Car and Truck of the Year finalists

The six finalists for the prestigious North American Car and Truck of the Year award were announced today before the Detroit Economic Club. A group of 50 journalists from across Canada and the U.S. voted among 14 cars and 11 trucks, which had to be new-generation or feature substantial modifications. Three finalists were named in each of the two categories.

The Japanese automaker famous for safety and symmetrical all wheel drive has announced they their Legacy Concept will be making its world debut next month.

The 2009 Honda Fit does not look quite like the model that was introduced back in 2007. But while the overall design has considerably evolved (jewel-like headlights, sculpted hood, exaggerated roofline, smaller rear window, new dashboard, etc.), the formula is the same. The Fit is still a great example of efficiency in terms of space and performance.
