DTM: Changes for the 2009 season

In order to avoid any conflict with Formula One, the DTM has published a revised calendar for the 2009 season, with a couple of major changes; the absence of the Mugello circuit and the replacement of the Le Mans venue by Dijon.

Porsche museum receives its first exhibits

By the end of the week, the relocation of some 80 exhibits to the new Porsche museum in Stuttgart will be completed. The automaker says that construction of the new museum at Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart is making good progress- and that the first 12 exhibits are being installed. These include a 356 Cabriolet, an original '11' and the first Porsche 924 prototype.

Volkswagen has unveiled a 1-ton pickup concept at the 62nd IAA Commercial Vehicles motorshow in Hanover, Germany. It is based on the new VW Pickup which will soon become the fourth model of the manufacturer's commercial line of vehicle. The concept vehicle was designed as a search and rescue (SAR) vehicle to suit lifeguards needs. This all-wheel drive pickup was conceptualised following consultation with emergency services as well as in-house emergency vehicle specialists

In a bid de reduce waiting times at red lights and thus decrease fuel consumption and emissions, Audi has developed a revolutionary system dubbed Travolution. It enables communication between traffic lights and cars in order to synchronize them. To do this, the traffic light sends a signal in the car's direction, indicating how much time is left on a green light.
